The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries announced the organization of the National Conference on the Modernization of the Agricultural Sector on October 27 and 28. This event will bring together an elite group of national and international experts specialized in the agricultural field, around digital transformation, sustainable resource management and strengthening food security.

Discussions will focus on several major strategic areas, including the use of modern technologies to improve productivity and yield, optimal management of water resources, modernization of agricultural equipment and infrastructure, development of financing mechanisms for the sector, as well as the complete digitalization of agriculture.

The conference will also address the restructuring and organization of the ministry and its affiliated institutions, the use of modern technologies in the management of agricultural land, as well as the use of biotechnology to develop varieties more adapted to climate change.

This event reflects a new vision of agriculture, based on cooperation between experts, scientific innovation and technological progress. It aims to strengthen dialogue between researchers, sector executives and economic partners, while proposing concrete solutions to achieve food security, improve the effectiveness of agricultural policies and build a sustainable sector, capable of meeting the challenges of the future.

This approach is part of a global vision defended by the Minister of Agriculture, Yacine Oualid, who places particular emphasis on the digital transition as a driver of agricultural development.

The Minister of Agriculture had announced, in this sense, that a unit dedicated to digital transition will be set up within the ministry, with the aim of attracting young skills wishing to invest in the agricultural field. This initiative is part of a strategy aimed at strengthening food security and promoting entrepreneurial spirit among the new generation.

He also underlined that the acceleration of the digital transition represents an essential priority for the sector, because it directly contributes to improving productivity, an issue that he described as a major challenge to overcome and a fundamental lever for agricultural and rural development.
