Coup d’envoi d’une caravane nationale de lutte contre la drogue

National anti-drug caravan kicks off

Alger

The kick-off of a national caravan to fight drugs, organized by the General Command of Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA), in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Agency for Youth Leisure (ANALJ), was given the day before yesterday Tuesday at the African Village of Sidi Fredj (Algiers).
The national head of public relations, partnerships and projects at the General Command of Algerian Muslim Scouts, Gherbi Abdelkader, said that “this caravan, which will travel through 14 coastal wilayas until August 31, will allow some 1,200 children (boys and girls) to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of drugs through the use of SMA holiday camps, those under the Ministry of Youth and Sports and some beaches.”
“This action is part of a cooperation program between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Algerian Muslim Scouts, particularly in its component relating to the fight against social scourges among young people,” said the deputy director of animation, listening and the fight against social scourges at the ministry, Farid Bouzid, specifying that the SMA executives will raise awareness among young people on the means to fight against this scourge.
