Review El Djeich returned in its last issue of May 2024 to the tripartite meeting in Tunis on April 22, which brought together the Algerian, Tunisian and Libyan leaders.
In an editorial devoted to the results of the work of this summit, the magazine underlines that Algeria has taken important steps, with its two neighbors, on the path to the implementation of a new mechanism for the countries of the region. , undoubtedly referring to a political and economic bloc.
Under the title: “And the achievements follow one another”, the author of the editorial considers that this meeting is “an approach taking place in a sensitive regional situation, particularly in the shadow of serious developments on the regional level and crises without precedent at the international level which require coordination of positions between the countries of the Arab Maghreb as well as the consolidation of efforts, the deepening and intensification of consultations. The objective, it is explained, is to effectively address the numerous political, security and economic challenges and avoid being affected by the accelerated changes taking place in the region and in the world.
In this same perspective, the publication recalled Algeria’s attachment to collective and constructive political approaches: “What proves Algeria’s attachment to making common collective action prevail is that the idea of This important meeting comes from the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has insisted, on numerous occasions, on the need to find a mechanism for regular and periodic consultation, in particular for the countries of North Africa. . This mechanism would work to provide appropriate solutions to the problems they face. Solutions likely to “protect our region from the real threats that surround it, strengthen the foundations of its security, its stability and its development, and which will therefore only be more beneficial to its peoples”.
This approach, adds the editorial, will definitively cut off the path to foreign interference in the region: “The main advantage to be credited to this important new mechanism is that it will definitively cut the path to foreign interference and the serious consequences that result from it for the countries of the region which continue to reaffirm their legitimate attachment to the sovereignty of their decision, to the advent of a multipolar international system and to international relations based on the principles of cooperation, solidarity and justice, as well as the equality of all countries on the planet before international law.”
For the author of the article, this consultative meeting, in addition to being “an important step in the unification of points of view on international and regional issues, will inevitably establish solid foundations for the strengthening cooperation at the security and economic levels, particularly with regard to ensuring food and water security.”
In another register, El Djeich mentioned the success of the military exercises carried out by the ANP units, writing that the personnel are permanently ready to counter any threat targeting our country, armed with this by the high operational availability of the various formations as well as the acquisition of force factors. “Proof of this is the resounding success crowning the execution of the various exercises with live ammunition, the latest of which was supervised by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army , during his visit to the third military region,” adds the edition.
The editorialist reiterated the declarations of the chief of staff of the ANP, who had affirmed that “within the ANP, we have made these rational and thoughtful approaches a daily attitude which combines acquisition of skills in combat and high professionalism, through continuous training and the perfect execution of different types of exercises, as well as faith in the cause, loyalty to the oath of the martyrs, the impregnation of patriotic values, the sense of sacrifice for its glory, attachment to the duty of defending its existence and its vital interests, in all circumstances and conditions.”
El Djeich concludes by saying that these qualities, which every enlightened people has inherited from father to son, can only enable them to thwart all hostile plans and follow the path of progress and prosperity in a climate of security and stability.
