The specialist doctors in the medical oncology department of the Didouche Mourad hospital in Constantine work to embody a new vision of modern medicine, based on the integration of innovative university research with precise and concrete cancer treatment practices in the field. This approach aims to transform scientific recommendations into concrete therapeutic solutions that increase the chances of cure and improve the quality of life of patients.
This trend reflects the commitment of Algerian medical professionals to keep abreast of the latest developments in oncology, through regular participation in major academic meetings, such as the 21st edition of the International Oncology Days, recently hosted by Constantine, which focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of tumors and monitoring the evolution of clinical cases.
In this context, Professor Amari Abdelaziz, professor in the oncology department of Didouche Mourad hospital, emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence is no longer just a research tool, but is now an integral part of daily practice, facilitating medical decisions and reducing the margin for human error. He explained, through the real case of a 76-year-old woman suffering from endometrial cancer, how medical algorithms made it possible to favor hormonal therapy over chemotherapy, after a careful study of clinical indicators and the body’s response capacity.
The same specialist declared that this therapeutic decision, taken during an integrated medical team meeting, was the result of an interaction between clinical experience and the technical expertise provided by the intelligent system. This enabled the development of a personalized treatment protocol spanning five years, ensuring safer and more balanced outcomes for the patient.
