De nouveaux établissements en service – Le Jeune Indépendant


The wilaya of Oran is preparing to welcome 451,381 students for the start of the school year 2025-2026, spread over the three teaching cycles. To meet this demand, new infrastructure has been put into service, including 12 primary schools, four colleges, two high schools and 75 extension classes. The system is also reinforced by 54 new school restaurants and nearly 1.4 million distributed manuals, in order to guarantee optimal learning and life conditions.

According to the Directorate of Education of the Wilaya, 219,995 students will join the primary cycle, 162,634 the means and 68,752 secondary. To absorb this school population, the educational network has been reinforced with 12 new primary schools grouped, four colleges, two high schools and 75 extension classes. The latter will make it possible to unclog certain existing structures, in particular in the new residential districts and urban centers, while facilitating planning and educational management.

The well-being of students is also taken into account with the opening of 54 new school restaurants, completing the existing structures to offer hot and balanced meals to students.

The distribution of textbooks, started in March 2025 and completed in July, allowed the delivery of 1,398,981 pounds to the establishments. In addition, 48 points of sale have been opened in approved private bookstores as well as in two centers of the National Bureau of School Publications (BNPS) in Oran and Hassi Benif, facilitating students’ access to educational resources.

In terms of supervision, the sector has strengthened with the integration of 81 graduates from teachers’ higher schools and 3,170 contractual teachers, to which are added 715 contract workers already in office. These recruitments aim to ensure sufficient educational follow -up in the three cycles and to maintain the quality of education.

Finally, the work of the new school infrastructure continues, with careful follow -up to guarantee the completion of the establishments expected in December 2025. A particular effort is also made for the cleanliness and maintenance of schools, in order to offer a functional school framework and an optimal learning environment from the first day of the new school year.
