Des créances de plus de 120 milliards de centimes – Le Jeune Indépendant

The Water Agency (ADE) unit is launching a campaign to recover its debts held by its customers in an amount exceeding the 120 billion centimes mark, an amount representing unpaid water consumption bills. This was stated in a press release from this public body.

As part of strengthening its “governance” in the hydraulic sector and anchoring the “culture of payment”, essential factors to guarantee the continuity of public service, the ADE has undertaken a large operation to recover its debts. Because, it is specified, the debt recovery campaign is part of a broader strategy of the company to balance its financial accounts, but also to improve its services in terms of providing better quality water throughout all the municipalities managed by it.

Broken down by customer category, the share of debts held on domestic customers amounts to more than 29 billion centimes, the share of debts held on administrations amounts to more than 37 billion centimes, while the debts held on traders and industrialists amount to more than 52 billion centimes.

The cumbersome procedures for recovering debts are recorded by municipal authorities, a factor hindering the company’s ability to “implement its investment and intervention programs in terms of maintenance, network renewal and improvement of services”.

In order to facilitate the payment process, the company has provided several convenient methods for paying invoices, either at the sales agency level or by electronic payment via the My Water Mobil application.

Agents from Algerian Waters are taking over the field to “raise awareness and approach citizens, providing them with the necessary details on the importance of this campaign and its role in improving public service”.

An opportunity for the company to recall the importance of preserving this resource as well as rationalizing its consumption to establish a culture of citizenship, which contributes to ensuring its sustainability in the general interest.
