The President during the Council of Ministers.
The President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, this Sunday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers devoted to a draft organic law establishing the status of the judiciary, the monitoring of the construction of seawater desalination stations, as well as presentations, in particular concerning the preparations for the 4th edition of the African Start-up Conference, indicated a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
The last Council of Ministers, chaired by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was marked by the adoption of structuring measures affecting several key sectors. From the reform of the judicial system to the sustainable management of water resources, including the promotion of African innovation through support for the continental start-up forum, these decisions reflect the government’s desire to accelerate the modernization of the country and strengthen its role on the African scene.
During the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, several major decisions were taken, marking a new stage in the consolidation of reforms and the development of infrastructure in Algeria.
Among the most important points is the approval of the organic bill establishing the status of the judiciary. This text aims to modernize the legal framework governing the judicial function, to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and to improve the working conditions of magistrates, with the aim of ensuring more efficient and equitable justice.
In terms of water resources, the Council also validated the choice of three wilayas Chlef, Mostaganem and Tlemcen for the establishment and construction of new seawater desalination stations. These strategic infrastructures will make it possible to sustainably respond to the growing needs for drinking water, particularly in coastal regions. The government also announced that the three other remaining stations will be located and approved at the next meetings of the Council of Ministers.
Finally, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune insisted on the importance of the success of the 4th edition of the African Start-up Forum, stressing that it is a direct extension of the Intra-African Trade Fair, recently organized in Algiers and crowned with great success. This event constitutes a showcase for African innovation and an opportunity to strengthen economic and technological exchanges between the countries of the continent. These decisions illustrate the Algerian government’s desire to pursue structural reforms, while focusing on modernization, water security and African integration.
