Two hundred and four individuals arrested, one terrorist killed, weapons and ammunition recovered
ANP/mdn Anti-terrorism fight
As part of the fight against terrorism, the forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) succeeded in incapacitating an armed individual in the wilaya of Aïn-Défla, more precisely at the place called “Amrouna”. During this operation, one (1) Kalashnikov type submachine gun, a quantity of ammunition, a pair of binoculars and various objects were recovered. In the process, the security forces arrested two hundred and four people (204), three (3) of whom were accused of supporting armed groups. Furthermore, four homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in the wilaya of Blida.

Thus, as part of the fight against terrorism and during a search and sweep operation near Amrouna, wilaya of Aïn Defla, an ANP detachment killed, on June 24, 2024, the terrorist named Benguiza Mustapha. alias “Khaled Mazen”, who joined terrorist groups in 2007. The said terrorist had in his possession one (1) Kalashnikov-type submachine gun, a quantity of ammunition, a pair of binoculars and various objects,” notes the press release. In the same context, “detachments of the ANP intercepted (3) elements of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory, while (04) homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed in Blida », Adds the same source. As part of the fight against organized crime, and “in continuation of the sustained efforts aimed at thwarting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the ANP intercepted, in coordination with the various security services during operations carried out across the military regions, 61 drug traffickers, and foiled attempts to introduce (4) quintals and (61) kilograms of processed kif from the borders with Morocco, while 4.06 kilograms of cocaine and 173,405 psychotropic tablets were seized. In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, ANP detachments arrested 131 individuals and seized 20 vehicles, 68 generators, 47 jackhammers, as well as quantities of mixture of raw gold and stones, explosives, detonation tools and equipment were recovered.
