The first vice-president of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (CIJM), Mr. Mehrez Boussayene, indicated, Tuesday in Algiers, that the distinction awarded by the Mediterranean Sports Movement to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is intended as recognition of the interest he has in youth and sport and of his role in the success of the Mediterranean Games in Oran in 2022.
In a statement to the press at the end of the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, in the company of the President of the CIJM, Mr. Davide Tizzano, Mr. Boussayene, also president of the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT), specified that “the distinction awarded to the President of the Republic is intended to be a recognition of his commitment and his role in the success of the Mediterranean Games of Oran in 2022”, which he described as “historic and successful in all respects.” “Algeria’s constant availability to host these Games testifies to the interest that the President of the Republic has in youth and sport,” he added.
During this audience, the President of the Republic was decorated with the highest distinction of the Mediterranean Sports Movement by the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games.
This distinction was awarded to the President of the Republic in recognition of the excellent organization of international sporting events hosted by Algeria, under his leadership and in accordance with his guidelines, as well as his policy aimed at encouraging athletes and the sporting movement in general, from the elite to clubs, including schools and universities.
