Distribution de plus de 251 000 logements – Le Jeune Indépendant


The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced this Wednesday, the launch of the distribution of more than 251,000 housing units across the national territory, stressing that no country in the world can compete with Algeria in terms of housing construction. This operation takes place on the occasion of the 62e Independence Day.

“Today, I announce the launch of the distribution of more than 251,000 housing units throughout the territory of the Republic, and there is no country in the world that can compete with us in these figures, neither in the large nor in the small countries,” he added, stressing that these efforts arouse the jealousy and envy of our enemies.

“The city of Sidi Abdallah was a blank land, and we have embarked on an ambitious program to create a new city by making the necessary corrections,” declared the Head of State, during the launch of the housing distribution operation.

President Tebboune went on to congratulate the Algerians who received housing. “We will continue on this path until we cover all needs,” he said, calling on them to “praise the achievements of their free homeland, for which millions of martyrs sacrificed themselves.”

On the occasion, the President proceeded with the inauguration of the city of the late Othmane Belouizdad and inspected the project of construction of 10,507 housing units at the level of the urban center of the new city of Sidi Abdellah in Algiers.

Continuing his visit to the wilaya of Algiers, the President of the Republic proceeded with the inauguration of the Douéra stadium named after Chahid Ali-Ammar known as “Ali the Point”. With a capacity of 40,000 spectators, the stadium was awarded on August 8, 2021, to the club of MC Algiers Mouloudia Club d’Alger, more commonly abbreviated to Mouloudia d’Alger or MCA, is an Algerian multi-sport club founded on August 7, 1921 and based in Algiers. Mouloudia Club d’Alger is the only Algerian team that managed to win the treble in 1976 and by winning the first continental trophy.on the occasion of the club’s centenary by decision of President Tebboune. From next season, MC Alger will therefore play in this stadium.

President Tebboune was accompanied by the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrahmane Hammad. The inauguration took place in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MC Alger, Mohamed Hakim Hadj Redjem.

Furthermore, the President of the Republic revealed that studies have been finalized for the construction of the Béchar and Ouragla stadiums. The Head of State specified that these two sports arenas will be built to international standards like the Douéra stadium. President Tebboune also stressed that Algeria will be a world sports hub thanks to the pace of construction of these stadiums.
