Erdoğan urges Russia, Ukraine not to miss peace opportunity


Türkiye considers the momentum achieved in Istanbul talks a chance for lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, urging Moscow and Kyiv not to miss the opportunity.

“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has proposed to host direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul. Talks will resume,” Erdoğan also assured in remarks published Thursday from an interview with journalists on his flight back from Azerbaijan.
