Hanukkah Gift Defaced With “Free Palestine” Message at Bloomingdale’s
A young man ordered Chanukah pajamas from Bloomingdale’s as a simple holiday gift for his girlfriend. When she opened the package, the store’s gift card included an added message: “Free Palestine.”
This is not “activism.” It’s a worker using a customer-facing moment to target Jews celebrating a Jewish holiday. Turning a sweet, normal Hanukkah gesture into something hostile and humiliating.
Chanukah isn’t a political statement. Being Jewish isn’t a provocation. And no customer should have to wonder whether a cashier, packer, or dispatcher is going to slip ideology into their family’s holiday box.
