ANP weekly review

As part of the fight against terrorism, crime and drug trafficking, the forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) arrested eight (8) elements supporting terrorist groups. During the same operations, the combined forces of the ANP also succeeded in arresting four hundred and fifty-six individuals (456) including seventy-one (71) drug traffickers and the seizure of four (4) quintals of cannabis and eighty-one (81) kilograms of cocaine.
Indeed, according to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), joint detachments of the National People’s Army, in coordination with various security services, were able, during separate operations carried out over the course of a week, to thwart attempts to smuggle more than 4 quintals of processed cannabis across the border with Morocco, during the seizure of 81 kg of cocaine, according to what was reported this Wednesday, the operational results of the ANP.
The same source explained that “as part of the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of the National People’s Army carried out, during the period from October 30 to November 4, 2025, numerous operations which resulted in qualitative results reflecting the high professionalism, vigilance and constant state of readiness of our armed forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism, “detachments of the National People’s Army arrested (8) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.”
As part of the fight against organized crime and continuing tireless efforts to confront the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of the ANP, in coordination with various security services during operations across the Military Regions, arrested 71 drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to smuggle 4 quintals and 82 kilograms of processed cannabis across the border with Morocco.
“While 81 kilograms of cocaine and 299,023 hallucinogenic tablets were seized,” added the same source. In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam and Illizi, “detachments of the National People’s Army arrested 385 people and seized 32 vehicles, 348 electric generators and 172 pressure hammers, in addition to quantities of a mixture of gold ore and stones and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations.”
In addition, “21 other people were arrested and 15 hunting rifles as well as 67,620 liters of fuel were seized, in addition to 18 quintals of tobacco and 19 tons of food intended for smuggling and speculation, during separate operations.”
On the other hand, “the coast guard foiled illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued 198 people who were on board traditional boats, while 495 illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.”
These successes achieved by the forces of the National People’s Army and other security forces (all bodies combined) are not the result of chance but the result of the sacrifices of our valiant security forces who spare no effort to annihilate any attempt aimed at harming the security and serenity of the country.
In terms of the fight against terrorism, we do not teach anyone that the ANP and the other combined forces are the first in the world to have succeeded in defeating terrorism on the ground without any external assistance. This barbaric terrorism, which is not like the others, continues to threaten the great military powers of this world who still cannot get rid of this scourge. Thanks to the successes achieved and the results obtained by our security forces, Algeria has become an example to follow in the fight against terrorism.
This state of affairs has forced countries with the most powerful armies in the world to learn from the Algerian experience in the field of anti-terrorism.
