Huit lauréats ont été choisis jeudi dernier – Le Jeune Indépendant


Eight schools including 04 primary schools, two CEMs and two high schools came first in the competition for the best green schools in the wilaya of Béjaïa organized by the association “SOS environment and animals” under the patronage of the wali of Béjaïa Kamel-Eddine Karbouche during the 2023/2024 school year.

These are the primary schools Chahid Abdelkader Boucherit from Akbou, Chahid Houcine Boufrouna from Melbou, ranked in 1st position, Chahid Abdelkader Abdoune from Tazmalt, who came in 2nd position and Chouhada Bouimedj from Tala-Hamza who occupied 3rd place. There are also the CEM Emir Abdelkader from Aokas, Chahid Med Arab Harik from the commune of Timezrit who were successively ranked in first and second position and the two Chahid High Schools

Abdelkader Bouchenna from Amalou and Krim Belkacem from Akbou who respectively also occupied the first and second box. These schools were entitled to prizes during a ceremony organized last Thursday at the Abderrahmane Farès Youth House in Akbou.

150L SONARIC brand solar water heaters were awarded as prizes to the first four winners, sets of TOTAL brand gardening equipment were offered to the three second winners and a set of plants was given to the establishment which took third place.

As a reminder, many establishments took part in this first edition since there will be others” according to the president of the “SOS Environnement et Animaux” association, Mr. Nacer Hadjou. Our interlocutor indicated on the occasion that “more than 9,450 children and young people took part in this first competition which we intend to register as a long-term one with the valuable support of our partners whom we thank on the occasion”.

And added: “our environment is in danger, that’s why it is recommended to everyone, today more than ever, to make efforts, to get more involved in protecting it. “. He will say: “the aim of this first competition of its kind organized in Béjaïa is to raise awareness among children and young people about environmental protection, create a culture and a civic tradition, develop environmental education among school students and raise awareness the citizens of the region to get involved in the protection of our environmental heritage which is very rich through at least the gesture of citizens wherever they are.

Workshops were held for the benefit of children from the association’s green clubs in parallel with the ceremony. They revolved around the themes of DIY-recycling, gardening, pottery and stone painting.

The competition was, as a reminder, supported from start to finish by APCs, school directors, the Béjaïa environment department and the education department. It was sponsored by the Port Company of Béjaïa and Global Aluminum system.

The awards ceremony saw the presence of the P/APC of Akbou, a delegation from the APW of Béjaïa, the director of the environment of the wilaya of Béjaïa, a representative of the management of the education, a representative of civil protection, a representative of forest conservation, directors and managers of the establishments which participated in the competition, some guests of honor including the ONA, the STP, the ADE and leaders of the local associative movement.
