IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari has stated that the military will conduct a thorough investigation into the deaths of hostages Chaim Peri, Amiram Cooper, Yoram Metzger, and Nadav Popplewell.

Hagari mentioned during a press conference that it is believed the four hostages were killed together in the Khan Younis area several months ago while being held by Hamas terrorists, concurrent with IDF operations in the region.

He acknowledged that challenging questions would emerge about the circumstances of their deaths and assured that the investigation would be comprehensive. The findings will be shared with the families first and then made public. Hagari emphasized that the findings will be presented transparently, as has been the practice so far.
