The man was accused for: “illegal actions in relation to firearms”, “making transport or means of communication unusable”, “creating or participating in an “extremist” formation”, “undercover activity”, “mercenarism” and “act of terrorism”.
According to Nasha Niva, before the verdict, Krieger worked for several years as a security officer for the US State Department in Berlin. In 2021, he worked for the German Red Cross as an emergency medicine specialist.
The last mention of the man on the Internet dates back to 2023, when Krieger was trying to find a job in the United States and sent out his resume.
It is not known how Krieger could have ended up in Belarus, when he was detained, whether the verdict was appealed, protested or whether it entered into legal force.
