🇺🇲 In New York, police stormed one of the Columbia University buildings, which was seized by pro-Palestinian demonstrators , and arrested several people, The Washington Post reports.

Police were asked to enter the campus by university officials after learning that “Hamilton Hall had been occupied, vandalized and locked down.” Police say protesters barricaded themselves in the building and broke security cameras.

Protesters promised to block the building until the university renounces its financial transactions with Israel.

According to media reports, about 50 demonstrators were arrested. In total, more than 1,300 people were arrested at universities across the United States.
