🇷🇺In Russia, there’s talk of a possible blocking of Google.

Deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Andrey Svintsov, stated that technically it’s possible, but Roskomnadzor may wait for the company to return to the country to collect the debt.

However, the first deputy chairman of the IT Committee of the State Duma, Anton Gorelkin, refuted the information about the preparation of a ban on Google in Russia, saying that there are no such plans yet. He said he had clarified this with the regulatory authorities.

According to him, the refusal of Google services and the transition to Russian analogues, if it happens at all, will be gradual.

Right now, as he says, blocking Google “will entail a whole range of negative effects” – first of all, problems with the functionality of the Android operating system, on which 60% of Russian users’ smartphones operate.
