Internet fortement perturbé – Le Jeune Indépendant

This week will be tough for the 862,000 candidates for the June 2024 baccalaureate session, whose tests began this Sunday. Everything suggests that the week will be just as hard for internet users, citizens and businesses, due to the cuts suffered during the tests, especially since these cuts are likely to persist until the end of the baccalaureate.

No social networks, no instant messaging or any access to different sites. The Internet was severely disrupted, or even impossible to access, at least throughout the morning. The connection was only reestablished around 1 p.m., before it was cut again from 3 p.m.

Like every year, and to avoid cheating and the leaking of baccalaureate exam subjects, the solution was to cut off the Internet, despite the inconvenience that this can cause to citizens and businesses in particular, who will have to wait until Thursday, the last day of the tests.

For the baccalaureate candidates, the serious things began with the start of the tests and everything will be decided during these five days of examination. The start of the tests for this baccalaureate session was given by Abdelhakim Belaabed, Minister of National Education, from the wilaya of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in the wilaya of Adrar, with the opening of the envelopes containing the copies of the Arabic language test. A test that was easy, according to most of the candidates interviewed.

At the exit of the El-Idrissi high school, located at the place du 1er-May, in Algiers, the candidates commented on the morning’s tests. For both the maths and technical maths streams, at 11:20 a.m., the first candidates were already starting to leave. With the subject of Arabic literature in hand, they were unanimous in saying that the subject was affordable. “We expected one of the two topics to mention the Palestinian cause and that was the case,” said a group of candidates met near the exam center.

Appearing calm and serene, Imène, a candidate in the maths sector, considered that the Arabic language test was affordable and within the reach of the average student. “For my part, I opted for poetry, which I based my revisions on. In my opinion, I worked well but we will have to wait for the results,” he told Young Independent the future baccalaureate, emphasizing that the most important and toughest tests for our sector and the other scientific sectors will take place from the second day, where candidates will have to take the mathematics, physics and natural sciences test. “This afternoon we will take the Islamic sciences test and I hope the subject will be easy to cover,” she added. A little further, at the Haroun-Errachid examination center, the opinions of candidates in the management sector were somewhat mixed.

Approached at the exit of the portal, Lemya and Inès maintained, for their part, that “the first subject was accessible while the second was a little difficult, which pushed them to choose the first”.

Unlike the girls, a group of boys found the first topic to be more difficult. “It was expected that the Palestinian cause would be mentioned in the poetry, according to the teachers’ predictions, unfortunately, this was not the case. This is what shook us up a bit,” said Anès, a candidate in the maths-technics sector. On the other hand, his comrade, Aymen, considered the subject more or less approachable. “I chose to deal with the first subject. The text was dedicated to the Palestinian cause. I found it easier,” he said happily.

The Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belaabed, assured, Saturday evening, in an interview with public television, that all conditions were met for the smooth running of the baccalaureate exam. He maintained that the subjects related to the lessons taught to final year classes, all streams combined.
