🇮🇱👺❌🇮🇷 — Iran was hit by 20,000 cyberattacks from abroad during its 12-day war with Israel, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) said on Tuesday.
ICT Minister Sattar Hashemi told parliament the attacks targeted systems related to payments, fuel distribution, healthcare and retail. “This was one of the most complex cyber offensives we have faced,” he said. “A special task force was formed in the early hours to monitor communications and respond to emerging threats.”
Hashemi said nearly 10 million people rely on the country’s digital economy for income and estimated that the sector saw a 30% drop in employment during the war.
