Israel Coordinates With Terror Groups as Gaza Search Restarts for Fallen Officer Ran Gvili
Hamas terrorists, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Red Cross have resumed ground searches in Gaza City’s Zeitoun area for the remains of Israeli police Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, with Israeli coordination reported through the hostages-and-missing framework.
Gvili is the last Israeli hostage still unreturned from the Oct. 7 Hamas-led massacre, officially classified as a fallen serviceman whose burial place is unknown.
Israeli officials say fresh intelligence was passed to mediators, including imagery and names of operatives believed to know what happened, while rejecting PIJ’s claims that it has already “closed” the Israeli-hostage file.
Terror groups have periodically claimed they “can’t locate” the remains after searches in eastern Gaza neighborhoods, but Israel is insisting responsibility rests with Hamas until Gvili is brought home for burial.
