Famine must be officially declared by international institutions

However, the lack of liquidity and the collapse of employment opportunities and local production have made all civilians in the Gaza Strip dependent on foreign humanitarian aid.
Therefore, the complete cessation of humanitarian aid “would completely deprive them of access to food and basic necessities which are essential for survival”, he warned.
Citing United Nations agencies, international humanitarian organizations and the International Court of Justice, the observatory maintains that “land crossing points remain the most effective means of delivering aid” in the Gaza Strip.
“The international community has a moral and legal obligation to stop the spread of famine in the Gaza Strip by taking rapid action to ensure the immediate provision of life-saving aid to the population,” he argued, pleading for the activation of “real pressure tools” to force the Zionist entity to “immediately stop all its crimes and comply with international law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice”.
“This implies ceasing all forms of political, financial and military support for the military attack (of the Zionist occupier) against the Gaza Strip and holding it responsible for all its crimes,” he concluded.
