💪🏼 ISRAELI-AMERICAN HERO: Edan Alexander, the IDF soldier freed in May after 584 days in Hamas captivity, has been promoted to sergeant first class, the military says.
At a military conference today, Personnel Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa personally awarded Alexander the new rank. Since his release, Alexander expressed his wish to return to active duty in the IDF.
Alexander, 21, a native of the United States, immigrated to Israel to serve in the Golani Brigade. He was abducted from an army post near Nirim during the Hamas-led invasion of southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
