Algerian exporters and stakeholders interested in this activity were very numerous to participate in an awareness day on export organized, the day before yesterday Thursday in Algiers, by the Algerian Chamber of Export and Industry (CACI). Knowing the latest measures taken by the country’s high authorities as well as the advantages offered by the new State Action Plan in the field of export, are the stakes of this meeting. A favorable day.
As part of the promotion of the export sector away from dependence on hydrocarbons, the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) invited, the day before yesterday Thursday in Algiers, Algerian exporters and economic actors interested in this commercial activity, to take part in a National Day on export, on the advantages offered by the State for local and foreign exporters and on the attractive prospects of this strategic activity for the national economy. In addition, the participation of Algerian exporters, local economic operators, owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were also present at this meeting organized by the CACI in its headquarters located in Algiers.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the Director General (DG) of CACI, namely Hocine Zaoui, declared that the objective of this meeting is to highlight the advantages and measures decided by the public authorities to promote non-hydrocarbon exports up to the support of exporters.
Declaring, also, that export remains a great challenge for Algeria, the head of CACI recalled in front of the attentive listening of the heads of companies, exporters, economic operators and other actors in the field of exports, that in the past “Algeria was among the major importers of several products such as construction materials, food products, cement and ceramics; today, it has become one of the main exporting countries, hence the imperative to preserve these achievements while working to export other products”, Hocine Zaoui explained with ambition.
For him, a figure of exports excluding hydrocarbons of 30 billion US is achievable by 2030. “Our country has all the necessary means to succeed in this bet, even such a challenge, and given the capacities that Algeria has”, the same official stressed that “the responsibility of the economic operator consists in respecting export standards, including quality, packaging, as well as its competitiveness on foreign markets”, will say with great certainty and as a good visionary, the head of CACI. To achieve this great challenge and be there for this considerable deadline, Hocine Zaoui urged Algerian actors to move forward without hesitation to establish a large export sector worthy of the greatness of Algeria, while ensuring and reassuring a permanent and professional disposition of CACI to support them.
