La CIJ renforce la légalité internationale – Le Jeune Indépendant

The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (IUPA) welcomed the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), recalling the imperative for the Zionist entity to respect all its obligations under international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions. According to the UIPA, this decision constitutes a major strengthening of the legal and humanitarian protection of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

In a press release, its president, Mr. Brahim Boughali, stressed that the historic opinion of the ICJ consolidates the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on their land. The UIPA also insisted on the need for international intervention to enforce the provisions of this opinion and guarantee unconditional access to humanitarian, medical and relief aid for the civilian populations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The organization concluded by calling on the international community and regional and national parliaments to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in the face of the suffering of the Palestinian people, and to support efforts to end the occupation and establish a just and comprehensive peace, based on the resolutions of international legality.
