The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, Towns and Territorial Planning, Mr. Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, announced this Thursday in Béjaïa where he kicked off a national operation to allocate 144,601 housing units on the occasion of the commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the national liberation war.
He also announced that the State plans to carry out a new housing program comprising 2 million units between 2025 and 2029.
Among the housing allocated during the ceremony organized at the headquarters of the wilaya, there are formulas carried out across the national territory including 23,248 public rental housing (LPL) and 78,463 rural housing aid, 10,400 assisted promotional type housing (LPA), 30,450 of the so-called individual and social housing formula and 2036 free promotional housing.
The minister added “that a particular interest is given by the State to the housing sector and that thanks to a clear desire and mobilization observed on a national scale, 1.7 million housing units have been distributed over the last five years”.
Mr. Belaribi stressed that it is “a national challenge which has, considerably, contributed to improving the social conditions of citizens on a national scale”.
He added that “this does not constitute an end point, but a starting point for the completion of the distribution of 63,395 additional housing units before the end of the current year, in order to achieve the expected objective of distributing 400,000 housing units at the end of the current year.”
The first head of the country’s housing department then recalled that “the housing distribution operation was launched on July 5 and has so far enabled the allocation of more than 190,000 housing units in all forms.” “This demonstrates,” he said, “the will of the State to keep its commitments to citizens and guarantee them a dignified life.”
Mr. Tarek Belaribi did not fail to announce after the launch of projects relating to the construction of 60,000 housing units within the framework of the AADL 3 program during this month of November.
In this regard, indicated that: “all technical studies and national calls for tenders relating to the creation and monitoring of 200,000 housing units programmed as part of the 1st phase of the formula in question under the 2025 Finance Law have been finalized across the country”, specifying that “16 new urban centers have been located in different wilayas of the country and should now accommodate 109,000 housing units. housing and that the progress rate of work on these programs has reached 65% for the first tranche, in addition to the construction of more than 1,220 public facilities.
