,The Algerian Basketball Federation recalled, in a note addressed to all clubs, the need to strictly respect the organizational provisions relating to the hosting of home matches, in order to ensure the smooth running of national competitions “in optimal conditions and in a spirit of exemplary fair play”.
This reminder comes after the observation of “certain excesses” reported by officials, clubs and match commissioners, specifies the FABB, which insists on the responsibility of the receiving clubs to guarantee the safety of referees, officials and visiting teams, before, during and after the match, until their actual departure.
The Federation asks clubs in particular to ensure that they evacuate and prohibit access to the stands located directly behind the substitutes’ bench of the visiting team, in order to prevent any tension likely to disrupt the progress of the matches.
It also invites them to strengthen organizational mechanisms and ensure the presence of sufficient and operational security at each meeting.
The FABB emphasizes that firm instructions have been given to officials to verify on the ground the implementation of these measures and compliance with the regulatory framework, in accordance with articles 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 of the General Regulations.
While welcoming the continued efforts of clubs, managers and referees for the development of national basketball, the Federation calls for “an increased sense of responsibility” and “rigorous application of security and organizational measures”, guaranteeing the smooth running of competitions and the positive image of the discipline.n
