On this occasion, the Minister wanted to emphasize that the Confucius Institute represents “an important step to strengthen and consolidate the transfer of knowledge”, while promoting the implementation of twinning programs between Algerian universities and their Chinese counterparts.

This inauguration is a continuation of a process initiated in October 2024, with the opening of the Chinese language department in the same campus, the fruit of a partnership between the University of Algiers 2 and the Chinese University “Northwest”. During this event, the rector of the University of Algiers 2, remember, said that the creation of this department constituted “a cornerstone in teaching Chinese language in Algeria”, stressing that it was a stage inscribed in the “cooperation program between Algeria and China, to which President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his counterpart Xi Jinping attach great importance”.
For its part, the vice-rector of the “Northwest” university had highlighted the will of its establishment to “promote scientific and academic exchange” with the University of Algiers 2, while expressing its wish to see this collaboration help to deepen the links of friendship between the two institutions.
