No fewer than three ministers, in addition to the first head of the association of Algerian Muslim scouts, Abderrahmane Hamzaoui, marked their presence this Monday in Tizi Ouzou, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 83rd year of the disappearance of the founder of the Algerian Muslim scouts, the late Mohamed Bourras. An event which is also part of this national day.
The event was greatly celebrated at the Mouloud-Mammeri cultural center. On this occasion, Abderrahmane Hamzaoui made a very eloquent speech since he recalled the true dimension of the family of Algerian Muslim scouts whose main profile is the patriotic fiber which nourished it and its solidarity with those who are in the need.
The first head of the National Association of Muslim Scouts began his speech by indicating that if the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou was chosen to celebrate National Scouts Day, it is because it is known for its patriotism and its fight for just causes. Concerning the missions of the association that he chairs, he indicated that they are multiple and are part of the training of citizenship. “We provide academic support to students, cultural and sports education to young people and we instill patriotic conduct in our youth,” he said.
Abderrahmane Hamzaoui said that the association he chairs has 300,000 members nationally and the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou alone has 10,000 members. “Our ambition is to reach one million members in the not distant future, since we are present in all the wilayas of the country,” he noted, before greeting the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the support he provided to the Association of Algerian Muslim Scouts and for the establishment of the National Day of Algerian Muslim Scouts as well as the services rendered to the country. “Today,” said Abderrahmane Hamzaoui, “Algeria has experienced very significant development and, consequently, it is no longer that of times gone by (colonial period, editor’s note).” “His permanent position and his continued defense of just causes, such as the right of the Palestinians to have a state and a territory and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, earn him the respect of the nations of this world,” assured the speaker.
The Ministers of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, of Youth and Sports, Abderrahmane Hammad, and of Vocational Training and Education, Yacine Merrabi, gave a speech where they emphasized the dimension of Algerian scouting. The wali of Tizi Ouzou, Djillali Doumi, also gave a speech where he introduced historical elements concerning national scouting.
Concerning the personality of the late Mohamed Bourras, Djillali Doumi affirmed that he remains, today and tomorrow, still the archetype of the patriot and the brave. “Like many, including Amirouche, the late Mohamed Bourras died as a martyr while still young. “, he said. It should be noted that the national song of the Algerian Muslim scouts was listened to, after the national anthem, by the large audience, among which were, in addition to the ministers and the delegations accompanying them, the local civil and military authorities who had, at their head, the wali. Finally, it should be noted that a rich exhibition, in correlation with National Scouting Day, amazed the guests of Tizi Ouzou.
