La production abondante de blé dur a permis d’assurer 1,2 milliard de dollars au profit du Trésor

The abundant production of durum wheat this year made it possible to secure 1.2 billion dollars for the benefit of the Treasury, according to a presentation presented Sunday during a meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Concerning the Combine Harvest campaign for the year 2024 and following the presentation by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who affirms that Algeria has secured 1.2 billion dollars for the benefit of the Treasury, due to the abundant production of durum wheat achieved this year, which allowed Algeria to get closer to total self-sufficiency, Mr. President ordered to “set a strategic objective, capable of increasing the cultivated areas in our great South to 500,000 hectares, in particular with the investment of the sister state of Qatar on 117,000 hectares and that of Italy on 36,000 hectares, in addition to national investments on 120,000 hectares”, we read in the press release from the Council of ministers.
