La Protection civile algérienne présente sa riche expérience – Le Jeune Indépendant

While the whole world meets in Japan on the occasion of the international exhibition Osaka Kansai 2025, Algerian civil protection is distinguished by its participation in the “Peace, Security and Dignity Week”, on the occasion of this event which began on April 13 and will continue until October 13, 2025. This is what the day before yesterday.

In a pavilion that is not full, Japanese and other international visitors discover with admiration the operational capacities of Algerian civil protection, its humanitarian commitment and its experience in the management of natural disasters.

On the shores of Japan, it is one of the facets of Algeria that radiates, that of an agile country in the face of crises and resolutely engaged in multilateral cooperation. Through an immersion rich in interactive presentations and impactful audiovisual content, the Algerian delegation attracted the admiration of an international audience, particularly sensitive to the challenges of natural disasters.

At the heart of this showcase, the help mission led by Algerian civil protection in Turkey after the devastating earthquake of 2023. Entitled “Commitment and operational efficiency”, the presentation highlighted the speed of intervention, professionalism and solidarity of the Algerian body, first on the scene among the foreign nations mobilized.

“Algeria has always been on the front line when it was a question of reaching out to the peoples brothers or friends,” said Colonel Achour Farouk, inspector at the Directorate General of Civil Protection, interviewed by the press on the spot.

This speaking has strongly resonated with Japanese visitors, for whom the theme of natural disasters is far from abstract. Earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons … The dramas of the past actually make the Japanese people particularly attentive to the strategies of major risk management.

But more than a technical demonstration, Algerian participation has distinguished itself by an assertive humanitarian diplomacy approach, putting its skills at the service of the vulnerable populations, beyond its borders. Returns were not long in coming. Many visitors, all nationalities combined, have praised the professionalism, technical mastery and humanity of the body of Algerian civil protection. Several of them highlighted the level of preparation and intervention reached by this institution, both in emergency situations within the country and abroad.

A few months before the closure of the OSAKA 2025 exhibition, Algeria registers its participation far beyond the institutional protocol. She affirms an identity turned towards solidarity action, a vision of multilateralism rooted in the concrete, in humanitarian emergency, in the saving gesture.
