The services of the wilaya of Algiers have developed a special program to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious National Liberation Revolution, through various cultural, artistic, sporting and recreational activities, in several public spaces, indicates a press release from the same services. On this occasion, the organizers have scheduled several theatrical performances relating to the Liberation Revolution and the different stages of the struggle of the Algerian people against the French colonizer, notably at the Algiers Center Theater, the Ibn Zeydoun Hall, the Atlas Hall and in other spaces, until Saturday, November 1.
The public of the capital and its visitors also meet at the Algiers Cinematheque, the Algeria cinema hall, the Ibn Khaldoun and Ibn Zeydoun halls and in other spaces, to attend screenings of historical films, such as “The Battle of Algiers”, “Colonel Lotfi”, “Heliopolis” and “Zabana”. Some of these screenings will continue until November 5.
In addition, activities dedicated to children are planned, until November 5, at the Office Riadh El Feth (OREF), in addition to a craft exhibition organized in coordination with the Chamber of Crafts and Trades of the wilaya of Algiers, until November 3.
The Algerian National Theater (TNA) hosted a conference on Friday on theater and the Revolution, to highlight the role of the artistic troupe of the National Liberation Front (FLN), as well as a photo exhibition dedicated to this troupe, which will continue until November 10, in addition to an international conference of young creators scheduled until November 12.
The National Mujahideen Museum also hosted a conference on Friday, followed by a ceremony of distinction in honor of the mujahideen.
On the other hand, a parade of vintage cars was organized on November 1 through several streets and spaces along the seafront as well as artistic shows, including “the Flame of Glories” at the Place de la Résistance and a youth show entitled “Descendant of Free Men” at the Grande Poste.
The program for the wilaya of Algiers also includes other exhibitions dedicated to heritage, a plastic arts competition entitled “November through the eyes of youth”, a mural competition, as well as artistic evenings in Riadh El Feth, the Palais du Dey, Dar Bachtarzi and the Grande Poste park, in addition to numerous activities within the different spaces of the “Arts and Culture” establishment.
On the sports side, the wilaya of Algiers organized the Bab El Oued triathlon on October 31, a hiking meeting in the Bainem forest on November 1, martial arts demonstrations at the “El Kettani” square on the same day, as well as a half-marathon in the city of Algiers scheduled for November 14, in addition to many other sports and leisure activities.
