Global computer outage
The Algiers Airport Services and Infrastructure Management Company (SGSIA) wanted, this Friday, to reassure its passengers and partners of the operationality and security of its IT systems due to the global IT outage which caused major disruptions in the air transport sector.
“Following a global IT outage in the Microsoft system and the CrowdStrike anti-virus, major disruptions have been recorded in the air transport sector. Algiers International Airport wishes to reassure its passengers and partners that, despite the recent global outage affecting Microsoft services, our operations have not been affected. Our IT systems remain fully operational and secure,” said SGSIA in a statement published on its Facebook page.
According to the same source, the flights departing on 19/07/2024 took place in good conditions. “Algiers Airport is working closely with all partners to monitor the evolution of this situation on a global scale. The technical teams on site are implementing all means to minimize possible impacts on airport operations and ensure the continuity of essential services,” concludes the press release, taken up by Algerian Radio.n
