Laâgab at training workshops on the constitutional and legal framework of the presidential election

Supervising the opening of training workshops on the ”Constitutional and legal framework for presidential elections”, organized by the Constitutional Court in cooperation with his department, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed
Laâgab, underlined, yesterday Wednesday in Algiers, the importance of the training and specialization of journalists to guarantee citizens their right to information, through professional, competent and efficient media but also to meet the challenges facing the Algeria is facing. “Algeria needs strong and effective media, especially in the current context where global media activity is strong and influential, even addressing us in our mother tongue,” he said. he indicates.
The information sector, he continued, is now experiencing good dynamics, because we have joined forces with public and private media establishments serving our country, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has already taken numerous measures to strengthen and support media establishments.
Welcoming, in passing, the initiative of the Constitutional Court to organize this training workshop for the benefit of national media and accredited journalists working for foreign media, in anticipation of the major event that the country is preparing to experience, namely the presidential election of September 7, 2024. Noting that employing organizations were required to provide training to their journalists under the organic law on information, Mohamed Laâgab recalled that the sector had organized numerous meetings , training sessions and specialized conferences for the benefit of some 700 journalists from the public and private sectors.
Announcing, on the occasion, the upcoming organization of several training sessions, including a workshop on economic journalism and data analysis, on June 4, for the benefit of 60 journalists. Note that the opening of the work took place in the presence of the President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Laâgab, the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belaabed , the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, as well as representatives of official organizations.
Organized for the benefit of the media, these four-day workshops aim, it should be remembered, to open a training space for the corporation on the role assigned to the Constitutional Court in the presidential election.
These workshops will highlight the constitutional, legal and regulatory developments relating to the presidential election, resulting from the creation of the Constitutional Court as a substitute for the Constitutional Council under the Constitution of November 2020.
During the work of these training workshops on the ”Constitutional and legal framework of presidential elections”, organized by the Constitutional Court in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication, emphasis will be placed on the role of the Constitutional Court and the prerogatives of the Independent National Election Authority (ANIE) in the implementation of constitutional and legal guarantees relating to the protection of the right to stand as a candidate and the right to vote and the announcement of the official results of the election.
