Algeria won, last Tuesday in Mecca, the “Labeitom” prize for excellence in services rendered to pilgrims in the category of Major Hajj Affairs Offices in terms of supervision of the Hajj operation, and this , during the closing ceremony of the Hajj season held in the presence of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, and the Director General of the National Office of Pilgrimage and Umrah (ONPO), Salah Bouterfa.
In this regard, Mr. Belmehdi indicated in a statement to the press that “Algeria’s efforts in supervising the Hajj operation were crowned by the “Labeitom” grand prize, which constitutes a new feat for our country.”
He added: “We are, thank God, among the best delegations, particularly in the category for which we won this prize. All our congratulations to our brothers who contributed to this feat and for these blessed efforts as well as to all sectors that participated in the preparation of the Hajj operation and to all members of the mission of the Office of Algerian Pilgrim Affairs . Congratulations to everyone and here’s to more success and success inshallah.” Concerning the repatriation of pilgrims after having completed all the rites of the hajj, the vice-president of the Mecca Center in charge of reception and accommodation, Youssef Baroud indicated in a statement to Channel I of the Radio nationally, that the Algerian Hajj mission is finalizing the final preparations for their return. In this regard, he assured that 75 flights from Jeddah airport and 69 flights from Medina airport will be carried out from today for the repatriation of more than 40,000 pilgrims.
In order to facilitate the smooth running of operations, the Hadjis will be prepared for their departure 24 hours in advance, with announcements indicating the bus numbers and departure times for Jeddah or Medina, said the same official adding that pilgrims will be grouped with a maximum of 49 pilgrims per bus, thus guaranteeing maximum comfort and worry-free travel. Logistically, passports will be sorted and baggage transported by dedicated trucks to the airports at least 15 hours before each flight. Pilgrims, for their part, go to the airport 8 hours before their plane takes off to carry out baggage check-in procedures and passport control, said the speaker, assuring that teams will be present at the airports. to answer questions and provide necessary assistance.
