Algeria welcomes the adoption of a resolution supporting the right of the State of Palestine to full membership at the UN

Algeria welcomed, the day before yesterday Saturday, the adoption, by the United Nations General Assembly by an overwhelming majority of its members, of a resolution supporting the right of the State of Palestine to obtain the full membership within the United Nations (UN), indicates a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.
Algeria considers, according to the press release, that “the adoption of this historic resolution confirms the international consensus around three political messages of extreme clarity, precision and importance towards the Israeli colonial occupier, at this crucial juncture that knows the Palestinian question: firstly, the establishment of the State of Palestine is an absolute necessity, which cannot be subject to manipulation, procrastination or controversy, in view of the efforts aimed at reaching a solution global dimension of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” we read in the press release.
Second, the creation of this Palestinian state must be the starting point and goal of any serious political process that aims to achieve a just, lasting and definitive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Third and last, “the international community does not recognize the Israeli colonial occupier’s right to oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state, because the latter is the fruit of an irreproachable international consensus that the power occupant can neither neglect nor oppose it.
Thus, “Algeria intends to continue its efforts within the Security Council, in full coordination with its Palestinian brothers and other Arab brothers, and with all its areas of belonging which support the Palestinian cause, with a view to supporting this international consensus on the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State, the one and only means of resolving the Palestinian question and restoring peace, security and stability in the Middle East region,” concludes the communicated.
