Algeria aims to occupy first place in the world in terms of the number of activities organized as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, which takes place from November 17 to 23, indicated the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, during the official launch ceremony of this Week.
In his speech delivered on this occasion, organized under the patronage of the Prime Minister, that the strong dynamics experienced by the national ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, and the means and resources available in the country, are able to allow Algeria to access first place within the platform of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), organizer of the event at the international level, in terms of the number of activities organized across the national territory.
He noted, in the same context, that the 2025 edition of World Entrepreneurship Week in Algeria “consecrates the principle of complementarity between the source of knowledge (universities and training centers) and the knowledge economy”, emphasizing the importance of the mechanisms put in place by the State to support project leaders in the realization of their ideas, as part of its vision aimed at building a diversified, sustainable and wealth-creating economy.
In addition to Mr. Ouadah, the official launch ceremony of this event was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Youth, in charge of the Higher Youth Council (CSJ), Mustapha Hidaoui, the rector of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, Cheikh Mohamed Maâmoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini, as well as senior state officials.
On this occasion, Mr. Baddari underlined the interest given by his sector to innovation and entrepreneurship, considering that the university and higher education institutes constitute an essential lever for the implementation of the State strategy aimed at the creation of 20,000 start-ups by 2029.
For his part, the rector of Djamaa El-Djazair affirmed the importance of entrepreneurship in Islam, calling for work to create an enterprising, productive generation that creates added value in several areas.
In this sense, he insisted on coordination between the different actors, particularly in the sectors of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professional Training and Education, Youth and the Knowledge Economy with a view to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit within the different categories of society.
Develop entrepreneurial capabilities
This event, which will continue until November 23 across several wilayas, will be marked by the organization of specialized conferences, training workshops, as well as meetings between entrepreneurs and economic actors for the exchange of expertise. This exchange will take place at the level of several establishments, including universities, professional training institutes and centers, agricultural institutes and directorates, wilaya innovation centers, university and private business incubators, entrepreneurship development centers, youth directorates, as well as cultural centers.
Placed this year under the slogan “Together to build”, Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to develop entrepreneurial capacities and skills among young people, particularly students, by motivating them and offering them content that can help them transform their ideas into projects.
During the launching ceremony, the general director of the National Microcredit Management Agency (ANGEM), Souad Bendjemil, presented a presentation on the activities of ANGEM, indicating that it had recently launched a national competition for the best project, created by the agency, in the agricultural field.
On this occasion, the National Entrepreneurship Support and Development Agency (NESDA) launched a digital subcontracting platform, called “Small Business Hub”.
According to the explanations provided by the Director General of NESDA, Bilal Achacha, this platform aims to strengthen cooperation between micro-enterprises and project leaders on the one hand, and large public and private economic companies on the other hand, by offering real opportunities in the field of subcontracting and supporting integration into national production chains.
