L’APN donne son quitus – Le Jeune Indépendant

Deputies of the National People’s Assembly (APN) approved two bills, one relating to the creation of new military medals within the People’s National Army (ANP), and the other on the institution of a medal dedicated to the latter. This was stated in a press release from the APN.

The vote took place during a public session chaired by the vice-president of the APN, Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit, in the presence of the Minister responsible for Relations with Parliament, Nadjiba Djilali, as well as representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, we read in the press release.

At the end of the vote, Ms. Djilali considered that the adoption of these two texts constitutes “a significant step in the journey of the National People’s Assembly and a step forward towards the anchoring of a culture of recognition towards the men and women of the People’s National Army, military, civilian and all of its personnel, who write, through their blood and their self-sacrifice, the epic of the new, resilient and victorious Algeria.” she declared. She also praised the “constructive interaction” of the presidents of the parliamentary groups during the discussion session of the two bills, the same source noted.

In a message read on his behalf by MP Bouchouit, the president of the APN, Ibrahim Boughali, stressed that “the State, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, pays particular attention to the National People’s Army, solid shield of the nation, which has, in all circumstances, proven its loyalty to the message of the martyrs, its determination to protect national sovereignty and to combat terrorism and organized crime. He added that the creation of these military distinctions aims to “honor the efforts of members of the military institution and to recognize their sacrifices made for the defense of the homeland and the preservation of its security and stability.”

According to information provided by the press release, the first bill provides for the creation of five new military decorations intended to “honor merit and commitment within the People’s National Army.” Firstly, there is the Operational Command Order, awarded to officers “who distinguish themselves by their excellence in the execution of their missions”, and the Order for the Fight against Terrorism and Organized Crime, awarded to soldiers “who have demonstrated courage on the ground in dismantling terrorist or criminal networks”. The text also proposes the Order of Innovation, intended for military and civilian authors of innovations “having strengthened the operational or defensive capabilities of the ANP”, as well as the Order of Scientific Merit, reserved for military and civilians holding the rank of professor for “their contributions to scientific and technical research”. Finally, the Order of Partnership with the ANP will be presented to foreign military or civil authorities, “in recognition of exemplary bilateral cooperation with Algeria,” detailed the press release.

As for the second bill, relating to the creation of the Medal of the National People’s Army, it establishes two civilian badges, the first degree and the second degree, intended for assimilated civilian personnel under the Ministry of National Defense, still according to the same source.

“These distinctions will be given to serving agents who have completed twenty years of career, as a sign of recognition for their competence and the quality of their services, as well as to those with a total of thirty years of service, as a tribute to their professionalism and loyalty,” concluded the press release.
