An opportunity to reconnect the spiritual and emotional bond between African diasporas abroad and their continent of origin. It is the meaning given by the acting Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, at the day of African diasporas which he opened the work on Friday at the International Center for Conferences (ICC) Abdelatif-Rahal, within the framework of the intra-African Trade Fair (IATF). It is the adequate space to “affirm the major importance of the contribution of African diasporas and African in the development of the continent, as well as their eminent role in preserving close and strong ties between successive generations, ”he added. “This close link, that the high authorities of the State work, tirelessly, to be strengthened, today has a deep meaning, while we are a few weeks before the commemoration of the 64th anniversary of the National Emigration Day, celebrated on October 17 of each year,” he said. This important historical step, he added, embodies the sacrifices made by migrants for independence and offers the opportunity to recall the historical role of African diasporas in resistance against colonization, the fight against racial discrimination and apartheid, and the fight to free itself from all forms of racial persecution, slavery and forced exile. In this context, he recalled the decision of the President of the Republic in 2021 to erect a mural in Algeria in their memory and in recognition of their sacrifices, which reflects “the commitment of the high authorities of the country to preserve this memory and to stand alongside the children of Algeria wherever they are”. Sifi Ghrieb said yesterday’s commitment to African diasporas to contribute to the process of fighting for the release of our continent is continuing today in new forms, based on their expertise and skills as well as on their multiple resources. On this occasion, he recalled that Algeria belonged to the group of member states of the high-level committee responsible for the implementation of the “decade of African roots and diaspora”, adopted by the African Union for the period 2021-2031. Reaffirming the support of Algeria to the pivotal role of the AU, as a coordination center of all the initiatives of the diaspora at the continent, the acting Prime Minister stressed that “it is fully prepared to contribute actively to the acceleration of the implementation of common projects relating to the diaspora”. As the continent is preparing to hold the “9th Pan -African Congress” next December in Lomé (Togo), Ghrieb insisted on “the urgent need, now more than ever, to redouble their efforts to mobilize the energies of African diasporas, benefit from their skills and expertise, and strengthen the unity, solidarity and cohesion of the continent, Integrated and global development of the continent, with the support of its diasporas and people of African descent ”. The African diaspora constitutes today “a major economic, social, political and cultural force and an actor capable of making an increasing contribution to the prosperity and the development of the continent”, according to the acting Prime Minister, which affirmed that the meeting will be an opportunity to examine the means allowing this diaspora to contribute to the promotion of the continent abroad and to work to operate a deep change in the narrative relating to the narrative. Faced with senior African officials and officials of African organizations, the acting Prime Minister said that the President of the Republic continued to place the national community abroad at the heart of his concerns and to pay him particular attention, observing that this solid bond has strengthened through the hinged historical stages that the country experienced, which made it possible to strengthen this sacred union between the established community and its country of origin. In addition, a hundred investors established abroad met on Friday in Algiers on Friday at the initiative of the World Council of the Algerian Diaspora (CMDA), in the presence of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the national community abroad, Sofiane Chaïb, and the Minister of Training and Vocational Education, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid.
