The manager of the Embassy of the French Republic in Algeria was summoned Thursday to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Director of Immunities and Privileges, said a statement from the ministry.
On this occasion, two verbal notes were given to the French diplomat, specifies the same source.
“The first verbal note was intended to formally notify the denunciation by the Algerian party of the Algerian-French agreement of 2013 relating to the reciprocal exemption from visas for holders of diplomatic passports and service. This denunciation goes further than the simple suspension notified by the French part and definitively puts an end to the very existence of this agreement, ”added the press release.
