Le consensus international est seul garant  – Le Jeune Indépendant

Algeria welcomed, this Monday evening in New York on Monday evening, the holding of the conference on the two -state solution, from an authentic international consensus. Present at this event, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the national community abroad and African affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf stressed that “this consensus constitutes the fundamental guarantor of a permanent, fair and final settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict”.

In his speech during this high-level international conference for the peaceful regulation of Palestine’s question, Mr. Attaf affirmed that “this international consensus represents the fundamental guarantor of a just, permanent and final settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict”, as well as it constitutes a “solid rampart against the expansionist policies of Israel under the cover of the myth of” Greater Israel “.

For the head of Algerian diplomacy, this international consensus remains “the most eloquent response to the illusions of the Israeli occupation and to his claim to hold, alone, the power to oppose the establishment of a Palestinian State on the land of Palestine”.

“The time has come to initiate a concrete action to materialize and impose this consensus on several levels,” insisted Mr. Attaf.

“The first level, specifies the Minister of State, consists in expanding the basis of the official international recognition of the State of Palestine as an irreversible reality”. The second lies in the admission of Palestine as a state -of -law member of the United Nations, a membership that “the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune has never ceased to defend and claim from this UN platform,” added Mr. Attaf.

The third level, he added, concerns “the mobilization on the diplomatic, legal, political and economic levels against the projects of the occupation aimed at the annexation of the Palestinian lands and the displacement of the Palestinian people of their historic land”.

As for the fourth and last level, the Minister of State indicated that he relates to “the inner Palestinian scene, called to tighten his ranks and to unify his speech in order to recover the independence of his decision, the strength of his action and the echo of his voice at the regional and international levels”.

As a reminder, Mr. Ahmed Attaf participated, last night in New York, in the high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the Palestinian issue and the situation in the Middle East.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this meeting is convened at the request of Algeria and the Islamic countries members of the Security Council.

It should be noted that the high -level international conference on the peaceful regulation of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two -state solution was organized on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. This event brought together a large number of UN member states, as well as international and regional organizations.

This conference on the two -state solution was initially to be held last June, but was postponed due to the Zionist aggression against Iran. It was then decided to organize it in two stages. The first was held on July 28 at the UN headquarters in New York, at the foreign ministers. The latter led to the “New York Declaration”, which includes a set of key provisions focused on international positions and commitments concerning the peace process and the two -state solution as well as “concrete measures” capable of going to a solution to two states.

On September 12, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a historic resolution, approving a overwhelming majority (142 votes), the “New York Declaration”, supporting the solution to two states and the creation of an independent Palestinian State. Several other countries have announced their official recognition of the Palestine State. These include the United Kingdom, Malta, Luxembourg, France, New Zealand, Armenia, Belgium, Saint-Marin and Andorra. Three other important countries have officially recognized the State of Palestine, namely, Canada, Portugal and Australia, thus bringing the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine in the 193 UN member states.
