The Director General of National Security (DGSN), Mr. Ali Badaoui, and the delegation accompanying him, met the head of the Anti-Drug Department of New York, with whom they discussed the ways and means of bilateral cooperation in matters to combat the challenges inherent in the fight against narcotics, in their various forms. This was indicated on Thursday in a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
“Continuing his working visit to the United States of America (USA), the DSGN, as well as the delegation accompanying him, met with the head of the Anti-Drug Department of New York, with whom they reviewed the ways and means of cooperation with the specialized apparatus of the DGSN, able to face the challenges inherent in the fight against narcotics, in all their forms, including synthetic drugs and cannabis resin.
On this occasion, adds the press release, “the delegation went to the various departments of the laboratory for the chemical analysis of narcotics under the said Department, where it received further explanations given by experts in the field, around the equipment and processes for the chemical analysis of narcotics.
The DGSN delegation also visited the headquarters of the New York Police Force, where there was an “exchange of experiences and views around the security challenges facing the police in both countries in the areas urban security, public security, tunnel transport and securing major events,” continues the same source.
In the same context, the Algerian delegation visited the border police services (PAF) between the USA and Canada. The meetings with those responsible for border crossings made it possible to “inquire about the means used and the procedures for controlling the border movement of people, vehicles and goods, as well as modern mechanisms for exchanging information, with a view to ‘ensure border security’.
