On the occasion of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, celebrated on May 16 each year, the National Radio, in collaboration with the National School of Political Sciences, organized, Thursday in Algiers, a conference under the theme: “Peace and the double standard, the doctrine of Algeria regarding the contribution to international peace”. The director of the National School of Political Sciences, Zakaria Ouahbi, the teacher of rights and international relations, Abdelkader Boubekeur, and the director of the Arab Center for Political and Social Studies in Geneva, Riadh Sidaoui (by videoconference) participated in the conference. The speakers recalled the origin of the idea of Living Together initiated by Algeria, as well as the considerable efforts led by Algerian diplomacy to achieve international peace and security and defend oppressed peoples in search of independence and self-determination, like Palestine and Western Sahara.
The participants also emphasized Algeria’s action within the Security Council, in its capacity as a non-permanent member, and the numerous appeals made in regional and international forums for a just and peaceful peace. sustainable, capable of establishing security and stability in the world. They also discussed the conflicts and wars that the world is experiencing, notably the Zionist occupation of Palestine, the genocide in Gaza and the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara. The speakers highlighted Algeria’s efforts, through its position in the Security Council, in support of the Palestinian people and all just causes, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and definitively resolve conflicts in the world. . We know that the West, led by the United States, with support from NATO, displays in a crude and garish manner its policy of double standards, when the accused, the Zionist entity, is part of its camp, thus allowing him to commit in Gaza, “the most transparent genocide in the history of humanity”.
Western-controlled international organizations immediately took sanctions against Russia after its special military operation in Ukraine, but did nothing against the Zionist entity despite more than 220 days of aggression genocidal attack against the Palestinian population of Gaza. Experts noted that since 1948, the United States has used its veto power to prevent any resolution condemning the Zionist entity. This is what the people and states of the Global South are observing and denouncing, who have understood that the international institutions set up by the West have no credibility.
