The 4th edition of the ECSEL EXPO e-commerce and online services exhibition will be held from October 15 to 18 at the Algiers Exhibition Center, with the participation of more than 250 exhibitors, the organizers announced the day before yesterday, Sunday. Spanning an area of more than 10,000 m², this event is presented as the largest e-commerce exhibition in Africa.
The event will bring together digital professionals, public organizations, investors and local businesses, with the aim of highlighting the importance of e-commerce as a growth lever for the national economy. The organizers wish to encourage Algerian companies to adopt more digital solutions in order to improve their competitiveness and the quality of their services. Particular attention will be paid to Start-ups, since more than 60 young innovative companies will take part in this edition. The chosen theme,
“The Algerian community abroad and its contributions to the development of e-commerce” will highlight the role of the diaspora in promoting the national digital economy.
Several interactive spaces are planned, including the ”Start-ups Arena”, dedicated to the presentation of new technological projects, as well as the ”360” and ”Artificial Intelligence” spaces, intended to showcase the latest trends and solutions applied to online commerce.
Interactive kiosks will also allow visitors to interact directly with exhibitors, thus promoting an immersive and participatory experience. Placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-
companies, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Youth, this event is part of a national dynamic aimed at accelerating the digital transition and supporting innovation. The commissioner of the Show, Chemseddine Habhoub, stressed that the organization of this event aims to highlight the strategic role of e-commerce in supporting the national economy, in the face of global digital changes and the new investment opportunities they offer. He added that the Show constitutes a space for the exchange of expertise between players in the sector, promoting creativity and the modernization of digital services.
According to him, all conditions are met in Algeria to strengthen electronic payment services and generalize this mode of transaction. The 2024 edition also plans a “Hackathon” aimed at young people with innovative ideas. Of the 1,500 candidates who participated in the elimination phases, 24 were selected by a jury made up of experts and academics.
Finally, in order to broaden the scope of the event, the organizers will offer the possibility of following the activities of the Show remotely through the official website, thus allowing people who cannot travel to benefit from the conferences, demonstrations and interactive workshops planned throughout this 4th edition.
