The ”Hub Of Excellence” at the service of youth and the national economy
The Incubator inaugurated in Ouargla
It’s good! What was only a project, about a year ago, is realized. It is the Incubator ”Hub Of Excellence” which was inaugurated the day before yesterday Tuesday in Ouargla thanks to SLB, this global technology company. The official inauguration of the Incubator ”Hub Of Excellence”, was done in the presence of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Yacine Oualid, accompanied by Mr. Wali of Ouargla and local authorities. It is useful to specify that this Hub was realized in collaboration with the Kasdi-Merbah University of Ouargla (UKMO) and the pan-African incubator IncubMe.
The minister said he was proud of the project which will have an impact on Algerian youth and the national economy while stressing “the importance of promoting local content, particularly in services related to hydrocarbons, describing this project as a model to follow.”
“This public-private partnership, involving an Algerian university and a multinational, opens new perspectives for young people in the region, creating businesses that generate wealth and jobs,” he added.
The presence of public authorities at this inauguration ceremony demonstrates the strategic importance given by the highest authorities of the country to any initiative aimed at promoting start-ups and encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit among students and young people of project leaders. The first incubator dedicated to the energy sector in southern Algeria, the ”Hub Of Excellence” of Ouargla is equipped with an amphitheater, a creative studio, an event space and training rooms, designed according to international norms and standards, to offer project leaders an environment conducive to innovation and creativity.
“This incubator represents much more than a physical space; it embodies a societal and economic commitment of SLB which aims to contribute to the creation of an ecosystem favorable to the emergence of innovative projects and ideas, in the fields of energy, technology, energy transition, agriculture and environmental preservation,” declared the General Manager of SLB in Algeria, Mohamed Said Si Abderrahmane.
Encouraging the production of local content, boosting job creation and supporting students and young project leaders, particularly those from UKMO and the Ouargla region, are the main objectives targeted by SLB. This ”Hub of Excellence” aims to be at the heart of innovation where tailor-made incubation programs, cutting-edge training and various events will be offered. The registration campaign for the ”Hub of Excellence” programs will soon be launched at the national level via a dedicated platform to enable project leaders to bring their innovative ideas to fruition.
The Ouargla ”Hub of Excellence” is one of the first milestones in a global approach which consists of inviting all economic actors and the various stakeholders to provide the expertise and support necessary to make this incubator a center of synergy and influence which aims to contribute to the development of the national economy.
