The party of the National Liberation Front (FLN), organized, on Saturday, a conference on the occasion of the celebration of the National Moudjahid Day, commemorating the double anniversary of the Northern-Constantinian offensive and the Soummam Congress (August 20, 1955-1956), during which the emphasis was placed on the importance of the preservation of the national memory, out of loyalty MOUDJAHIDINE.
Chairing the opening of this conference, the secretary general (SG) of the party, Abdelkrim Benmbarek, explained that the celebration of this anniversary “is a renewal of the oath to the message of the Chouhada and Mujahideen”, stressing that history “is not only a past that is told, but also a continuous message and a present which is renewed for each determined generation to honor this Legs, of a strong Algeria ”.
The north-Constantine offensive constituted “an important milestone in the course of the blessed liberation revolution and a resounding cry which aroused the conscience of the world on the cause of a whole people demanding their right to freedom,” he said.
The Soummam Congress “contributed to the political and organizational process of the revolution, proving that it was not an armed uprising, but a global national liberation project”, he added, noting that the date of August 20 common to the two events, “consecrates in our national conscience the fact that unity is the key to victory and that sacrifices are the foundation of freedom that has crowned the process of struggle of the Algerian people”.
