The individual signature subscription forms of the candidate for the presidential election of September 7, 2024, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, were collected on Thursday at the headquarters of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), by his representative, Mr. Boualem Boualem. “In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the organic law relating to the electoral system, I have just collected, on behalf of Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the individual signature subscription forms for his participation in the presidential election, and this, by delegation on his part to do so within the framework of the legal procedures in force,” Mr. Boualem told the press after collecting the individual signature subscription forms. Earlier in the day, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had announced his intention to run for a second term.
“At the request of several political and non-political parties and organizations and of the youth, I think that the time has come to announce that I am running for a second term as permitted by the Constitution and it is up to the Algerian people to have the final say,” the President of the Republic said in this regard.
