Le rôle de l’innovation agricole – Le Jeune Indépendant

The creation of agricultural micro-enterprises in the north of the country, in the Highlands and at the green dam will be launched soon, according to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Youcef Cherfa, who supported the need to use start-ups and innovation in this area. These measures are part of the continuity of those taken to ensure food security.

The creation of these companies comes in the wake of the new orientations of the agricultural sector and in application of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, given during the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, with a view to creating more jobs and wealth and achieving food security.
This was indicated last Thursday by the Minister of Agriculture, on the sidelines of his working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Guelma. Cherfa stressed that his sector is preparing, in coordination with the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, the holding, at the beginning of next October, of a national meeting with the participation of young academics and project leaders in order to identify and identify the means to be put in place for the creation of agricultural micro-enterprises in the North and in the High Plateaus, particularly at the level of the green dam.

The minister recalled in this regard that his sector is currently working with start-ups interested in irrigation and monitoring techniques, stressing that his department is ensuring that more facilities and support are provided to young people in this field to exploit the innovative solutions of project leaders in the development of agriculture in the country.

As part of his working visit to the wilaya, Mr. Cherfa inspected several projects, laid the foundation stone of the project to build a grain silo with a capacity of one million quintals in the pilot farm “Mekhanecha Nafaa” in the commune of Boumahra Ahmed, approximately 10 km east of Guelma.
