Le satisfecit de Belabed   – Le Jeune Indépendant


The Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, expressed his satisfaction with the success rates recorded in the end-of-year exams (BEM and bac), as well as the good level of continuous assessment of the fifth year of primary education.

“These results are the result of the stability that the sector has experienced, the commitment, professionalism and continued dedication of all members of the educational community, each in their own field,” said Minister Belabed during a videoconference, with executives of the central administration and directors of education, on the evaluation of the results of the end-of-cycle middle and secondary school exams (BEM and bac), and the closing operations of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Appreciating the success rates achieved and the good level of continuous assessment of the fifth year of primary education, Mr. Belabed indicated that the stability of the sector and the efforts of all staff have contributed to creating the conditions for success for our students. He highlighted the support and guidance, monitoring and attention that the State, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has given to the school.

A presentation was made on the progress of schooling, the transfer of employees, educational support actions, as well as the distribution of school textbooks and the renovation of educational establishments.

In conclusion, the Minister stressed the vital importance of the appeals committee meetings scheduled for 21 and 22 July, in order to rule on the cases submitted by students and their parents.

It should be recalled that the national success rate for the middle school certificate (BEM) exam, June 2024 session, reached 62.85% among those who achieved an average equivalent to or greater than 10/20,

According to the Ministry of National Education, the number of school candidates admitted with honors amounts to 263,088 candidates, divided into 7,874 candidates with Excellent honors, 45,554 candidates with Very Good honors, 79,334 with Good honors and 130,326 candidates with Fairly Good honors. As for students admitted to the first year of secondary school, their number amounts to 585,882 candidates, or a rate of 73.27%.

As for the baccalaureate exam, the national success rate reached 58.28%. The success rate is up compared to the 2023 session, when it reached 50.61%, an increase of 7.65%.

The mathematics stream won the prize with the highest pass rate of 82.25%, while the arts stream, introduced this year, recorded a pass rate of 79.45%.

The Minister of National Education also announced that the Kouba mathematics high school, Mohamed-Mokhbi, had an exceptional success rate of 100%.
