The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, also president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM), announced this Sunday that the new status of the judiciary will be promulgated before the end of 2025. An announcement made during the official opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 judicial year, at the headquarters of the Supreme Court in Algiers.
In his speech, the Head of State underlined the strategic importance of justice in the process of consolidating the rule of law, while reaffirming his commitment to guaranteeing the conditions necessary for the independence, integrity and effectiveness of the judicial system.
“Convinced of the vital role of the judiciary, we have constantly insisted, in the directives addressed to the Government, on the importance of taking good care of civil servants in the justice sector and of continuing efforts aimed at moralizing judicial action,” declared President Tebboune.
The president highlighted the need to guarantee magistrates adequate living and working conditions, believing that this constitutes an essential lever to enable them to devote themselves fully to their mission. “It is essential to take care of the daily needs of magistrates so that they can devote themselves entirely to their missions,” he added.
Tebboune also praised the work accomplished by the body of the judiciary, expressing his recognition for the efforts made and the results obtained, which he considers to be the fruits of the reforms undertaken in recent years. For the Head of State, the opening of this new judicial year is also a moment of assessment and projection.
He recalled his commitment to mobilizing all the human and material resources necessary for justice that meets the expectations of citizens, faithful to the ideals of the November Revolution. “We are working to establish an independent and honest justice system which reflects the rule of law, in a spirit of loyalty to the Algerian people and the martyrs of the nation,” underlined Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
